Getting ready to list your home? There are a few things you can do to go a long way with buyers. Below are our favorite Home Staging Tips!
8 Home Staging Tips:
Removing excess items from rooms can make a big difference in the way the space feels. Before listing your house take some time to get rid of unnecessary items. You’ll need to pack them when your house sells, so go ahead and get a jump start!
Rearrange Furniture Groupings
Make sure spaces feel open. Too many chairs at your dining room table? Coffee table blocking a walk way? You want your house to be easy to navigate. Rearranging furniture is one of the easiest ways to make your home feel larger.
Turn those lights on and open window treatments before a showing. Everybody appreciates a well lit room. Show off those windows and natural light. You want buyers to have an easy time walking through your house, don’t make them search for light switches.
Neutral and Appealing
If you’re willing to do some painting it’s best to stick with colors that appeal to everyone. Buyers sometimes have a hard time seeing a room for it’s value when they can’t get past the color. If you need examples of neutral colors check out local new construction. Builders have mastered the technique of beautiful but neutral.
Clean and Deodorize
Spring cleaning is the idea! Dust, vacuum, clean those floors. A plug-in air freshener at it’s lowest setting can work wonders. You don’t want to overpower buyers with the smell of lavender, a little goes a long way.
Remove personal items
You want buyers to imagine themselves living in the house. Take a moment to remove personal items from the room. Think showroom! Furniture and accessories will show how usable a space is, and allow buyers to envision themselves moving in!
Open Doors and Closets
Entice buyers to explore the entire house. Opening doors will take the guesswork out of their tour, and make your house seem larger at the same time. Don’t forget closet doors. Show off your storage space! Just don’t forget to tidy closets as well.
Don’t forget the curb appeal! Install new pine straw or mulch, plant a few flowers if the season is right. Keep your driveway clean of leaves and debris. First impressions make a huge difference.
