Things To Do In Woodstock
The city is always planning wonderful things for it’s residents. With the holiday season upon us, be sure to set aside some time to see the most amazing Christmas Light Displays near Woodstock.
Woodstock officially became a city in 1897, but postal service records show postmasters in Woodstock as early as 1833. In 1912 the Woodstock Depot was developed and the town really really started to grow during the 1910’s. If you walk through downtown Woodstock there are still many buildings and homes that are over a century old. We created a webpage dedicated to these historic downtown homes.
The city saw major growth in the 1980’s as demand for the area grew and new home builders rushed to fill the need. However, these population boosts were minor compared to the extreme growth we’re experiencing now. You can see on the chart to the right, Woodstock has grown tremendously in the past 15 years. So much in fact, that in 2007 it was one of the 10 Fastest Growing Suburbs in the US.
Towne Lake Parkway
Originally developed in the late 1980’s by the Means Brothers Company, Town Lake Parkway is a master planned community in Woodstock. This community is popular for it’s executive style homes, and easy access to shoppes and fine dining. Commuters love Towne Lake Parkway due to it’s easy access to I-575, GA-400, Roswell, and Alpharetta.
